The Hendy household has acquired a 1949 Ford Anglia EA94A, with lower than 5,000 miles on the clock, which was offered by Percy Hendy 75 years in the past in Chandler’s Ford.
The Anglia was bought by Rebecca Hendy, chairperson and trustee of the Hendy Basis (the charity arm of the Hendy Group), and her two sons Will and Ben. It was bought late final month through an public sale run by South Western Automobile Auctions.
Rebecca Hendy, mentioned: “It’s been a pleasure to deliver the automobile again into the household fold after so a few years.
“It’s implausible to have the ability to honour a bit of Hendy historical past and have a good time our long-standing partnership with the Ford Motor Firm.
“We’d like to precise our honest appreciation to South Western Automobile Auctions for bringing this car to our consideration, and to its earlier house owners for his or her devoted care.
“We vow to give it the care and attention it deserves, while also allowing many members of the public to see it properly.”
The Ford Anglia EA94A was first registered in February 1949, offered to a Ms Lily Cull from Eastleigh, Southampton, for £319 16shillings and 8pence. This automobile went on to have two different house owners.
It was the lowest-priced four-wheeled automobile in Britain, and a complete of 108,878 items have been produced between 1949 and 1953.
The automobile could also be displayed at numerous Hendy Ford dealerships throughout the south of England over the approaching months.
