Rolls-Royce Motor Automobiles delivered a sequence of science, expertise, engineering, arts and arithmetic (STEAM) workshops on the native Davison CE Excessive Faculty for Ladies.
The workshops had been led by ex-Davison scholar and present Rolls-Royce apprentice, Fleur Macmillan. She was supported by Jess Burcombe, an Intern and undergraduate from the College of Chichester, who supplied insights right into a STEAM profession pathway.
Macmillan mentioned: “Encouraging extra younger ladies to enter STEAM careers is so necessary.
“After I was sitting in those self same school rooms just a few years in the past, I by no means would have believed this was potential for me.
“There are so many ways to grow within Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and I am so pleased that I made that decision to choose a career with so much opportunity.”
The workshops help Rolls-Royce Motor Automobiles’ wider Future Expertise Programme (Graduates, Apprentices and Internships).
Developed in collaboration with Arithmetic Training Innovation (MEI), which goals to enhance maths training, the workshops had been mapped to the college curriculum and made related to luxurious manufacturing.
Davison CE Excessive Faculty for Ladies is the one state faculty on the Sussex Coast offering training completely for women.
Mark Adams, director of HR at Rolls-Royce Motor Automobiles, mentioned, “By displaying how necessary maths is inside luxurious manufacturing, we hope to encourage college students to think about a future within the trade.
“In recent years, we have seen a welcome increase in female applicants for our Future Talent Programme, and activities like this are key to sustaining that progress.”
The applying window for the 2025 Rolls-Royce Motor Automobiles Apprenticeship programme is open till 31 March.
