The Land Rover Vary Rover Evoque was the highest profit-making mannequin (£3,650) of September 2024, based on Seller Public sale. Information revealed a 50-50 cut up between premium and mainstream fashions for the primary time.
The Vary Rover Evoque took the spot of the Discovery Sport (£3,300) which has been high profit-maker seven out of the 9 months in 2024. The Volvo XC60 adopted in third (£2,850).
Seller Public sale’s Market Director, Kieran TeeBoon, mentioned: “That is the largest shake-up we’ve seen within the Retail Margin Monitor since its launch.
“Past the same old suspects within the first three spots, premium fashions have been challenged by mainstream fashions – particularly family-friendly SUVs.
“They’ve even knocked stalwarts like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class out of the table for the first time since July 2023. Could this be a new trend?”
The Kia Sorento positioned fourth (£2,800), adopted by the Volkswagen Tiguan (£2,600), the BMW 3 Collection (£2,600), the Mazda CX-5 (£2,500), the Toyota RAV4 (£2,425), the Dacia Duster (£2,400) and the Hyundai Tucson (£2,325).
TeeBoon mentioned: “Total, it’s clear that mainstream manufacturers shouldn’t be underestimated. The information speaks for itself! This month, we’ve seen a number of family-friendly fashions stake a declare within the high 10, clearly displaying that the chance is there for savvy sellers.
“Acting on the available insights will give dealers the confidence to leverage profit opportunities from both the consistently high-ranking products and these unique opportunities for extra profit.”
